Ready4Service is a United Way of Northeast Louisiana initiative designed to get 4th and 5th grade elementary students involved in community service.
The students who take part in the program either earned the title of Student of the Year or are contenders for the title in the upcoming year.
The service learning process utilized – Investigation, Preparation, Action, Reflection, Demonstration and Evaluation (IPARDE) – is a research-based teaching and learning strategy that engages youth in service to meet learning objectives and address real world issues. Students receive service education, exposure, and experiences that will enhance their awareness of local, state, and global topics.
