  • Full Cart – Virtual Food Bank. Ships free food directly to your front door. Currently, there is a waitlist for services. Open to anyone in need of food due to government shutdown: fullcart.org 
  • Bawcomville Hope Outreach – Serves a hot meal and a box of food on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at 4:00pm. Clothes closet on site as well. Must show ID and proof that you live in Ouachita Parish: newhopeworship.net | 131 Arrant Rd, West Monroe, LA

    • Offering their members early credit for expected payroll amounts for federal employees. This is not a loan.   • Hyundai Capital: Hyundai will extend all Hyundai Capital auto loan and lease payments for 30 days for current Hyundai owners who are federal government employees furloughed during the shutdown. Impacted consumers should contact Hyundai Motor Finance at 1-800-523-4030 to take advantage of this offer.
  • Kia Motors Finance: Kia has announced they’re offering deferred payments of 30 days. If you’ve been affected by the current Government Shutdown and need assistance from Kia Finance, please contact us at 1-866-331-5632.
  • Ford Credit, GM Financial, & Mercedes-Benz Financial Services: It has been reported that these companies are among those providing qualified customers options such as payment deferrals, late fee waivers and special care lines to address their individual problems, though official announcements from these companies have not been released online.
  • PayPal
    • PayPal has allocated $25 million to fund interest-free cash advances to our furloughed Federal workers that need assistance right now. This is for both new and existing PayPal Credit customers. Minimum loan is $250 with a maximum cash advance of $500. Your account does need to be in good standing if you’re an existing PayPal Credit customer. Existing customers call 1-877-689-1975. For new accounts, apply here first, then after approval call 1-877-689-1975.
  • U.S. Employees Credit Union: USECU is also offering shutdown loans, but only until Tuesday, January 15th. Call 312-922-5310 to get help.

  • Verizon

    • Offers flexible payment plans and “Promise to Pay” arrangements: 1-800-837-4966 or 1-800-VERIZON

    • Verizon offers flexible payment arrangements for federal workers, military personnel, and first responders who may face financial difficulties due to a government shutdown. Your Verizon services will not be impacted during a government shutdown. If you are a federal employee in need of assistance, you can contact Verizon to discuss payment deferral options.

    • You will need to provide verification of your federal or military employment.

  • Air Force Aid Society

    • Provides grants and Falcon Loans for Air Force and Space Force members: afas.org

  • Army Emergency Relief (AER)

    • Provides rapid, zero-interest loans to active-duty Soldiers if military pay is delayed. Loans equal one net paycheck (up to $6,000) to bridge financial gaps until operations resume: 1-866-878-6378 |  info@aerhq.org

  • Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA)

    • Offers interest-free loans to Coast Guard military and civilian employees to help with essential expenses such as rent, insurance, and childcare, up to the member’s monthly housing allowance: 1-800-881-2462 |  assistance@cgmahq.org

  • EANGUS – We Care for America Foundation

    • Grants and loans for National Guard service members experiencing hardship.

  • Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society
